The project U-shaped walls

The project U-shaped walls is part of the programme ECOEST II which has been realized from 1997 to June 2000.

Description of the test

4 U-shaped walls of about 20 tons and 5 meters tall (taking into account extra mass) have been tested on table Azalée during March and April 1999. The 4 walls have been submitted to seismic accelerations up to 1G so as to have them ruined.

These tests were setup for ICONS partner - Structural walls.

Have participated to the project the universities of: Patras (Greece), Pavia (Italy), ENS Cachan, INSA Lyon (France). The design of the models has been realized at Patras.
