The projects Camus 3 and 4

The projects CAMUS are part of the programme ECOEST II which has been realized from 1997 to June 2000.

Description of the test

Two canvas models in reinforced concrete (about 36 tons each, 5.1 m tall) have been tested on table Azalée. These structures have been built on the models of Camus 1 and 2 with different armatures and conditions to limits. Camus 3 has been reinforced according to Eurocode 8, Camus 4 has not been fixed to the shaking table but put on a layer of sand whose properties are close to the ones of the ground.

These projects have been realized in cooperation with the universities of Patras (Greece), Pavia, Catania (Italy), Barcelona (Spain), ENS Cachan, INSA Lyon, and Géodynamique et Structures (France).
